March For Women’s Lives

April 28, 2004 · Posted in History · Comment

Washington, DC
An early incarnation of the Rude Mechanical Orchestra made this trip to DC their first musical experiment. The march addressed various women’s issues, most notably reproductive rights. Appropriately, the band has made frequent trips to DC for a variety of causes and has continued to support women’s issues and women’s groups. In addition, the RMO has proudly continued to maintain a roughly equal gender balance in both numbers and leadership roles. Other elements of the trip included half the band getting stuck on I-95 with car trouble, spending the night at Quince’s mom’s house and getting Ethiopian food hours after the event ended.
