Time’s Up Space
For the Halloween Critical Mass, the after party was held in the Time’s Up space, where the RMO heated up the floor before moving outside to the adjacent lot. Later in the evening, the cops assaulted the party, arresting and attacking people outside, while blocking the entrance to the space and trapping partygoers inside. At the same time, those inside blockaded the doors to the space and prevented the police from entering for several hours, while some people escaped by climbing over several fences behind the building. After some last minute negotiation by civil rights lawyer Norman Siegel, the remaining people were finally allowed to leave.
