HOWL Festival Parade

East Village, Manhattan.  This fest celebrates the vibrant artistic culture of the neighborhood, especially hardworking independent artists of all mediums. We marched in the procession from Cooper Union to Tompkins Square, where performances, foods, and art took place all day. Then we ate free ice cream, played more music, and let some children play our instruments so that we could eat more ice cream.

The Frying Pan, Pier 63, NYCThe RMO lounged on the pier and feasted. Then we played music for “rich people.” On the way home, some rent-a-cops informed us that we could did not have access to a public space (empty street and sidewalk) because of a fancy party that had ended hours ago. They pounced upon our members with unnecessary violence when they refused to take a senseless detour.
